I have Win2k Pro installed on my PC. Everytime I login,
userinit.exe comes up indicating that there is no disk in
Drive A: and although I can continue on and do whatever
it still asks for a floppy in the drive. The message
only goes away after you put in a floppy and hit
Continue. Cancel only brings the message back again.
Event Viewer described the event as:
Event ID: 26
Event Source: Application Popup
I have checked the bios to make sure there is no floppy
seeking turned on, there are no services that come up
asking for the floppy (I have removed them all and
anything in the startup folder and the message still
comes up.). I have also checked the userinit key in
Winlogon and it has c:\windows\system32\userinit.exe, in
it. I cant seem to figure out why this is coming up and
how to turn it off. I have applied all the patches and
am at the current patch and update levels (as it had been
indicated that SP4 might fix the problem). I have also
scanned for viruses and there are none. Any ideas?
