Unwanted attempt to access drive A: on boot

Hi:

When I boot my laptop, which is connected fulltime to the network, the boot
always pauses beause userinit.exe is trying to access drive A: Obviously i
don't have a floppy in drive A: or it wouldn't boot from the HD

I don't know what userinit is and I can't seem to find it by searching or
using regedit. I would like too either get rid of it (if I don't need it) or
at least stop it from trying to default to drive A: so that the boot isn't
interrupted every time.

Any ideas?

Check your BIOS to make sure that it is not saying that you DO have a
floppy drive. If there is not reference to a floppy in the BIOS then
Windows should not look for any.
