Win2k, Athlon 2600 MSI KT6 MB.
Attempted to load Belkin USB wifi adapter F5d6050 drivers
(Updated drivers and old drivers)
and got an error message that: 'an error occoured during
the installation of this device'.
"the INF of device information set or element does not
match the specifed install class"
I haVE used this Set up before on another MSI mainboard,
an athlon 2000 without too many problems and decided the
wifi adapter had gone U/S.
I repleced with a Linksys WUSB54G and got the same failure.
IS there something I am missing here, or maybe a reg-edit
fix for this?

Probably you are installing a wrong driver,
or something is broken in your system (has somebody tampered with INF
or PNF files?).

This is an issue with windows 2000. I tried to install a
D-Link PCI wireless adapter DWL-G520 and I have received
the same error message. The registry fix using the
instructions from articel 306983did not work but they may
work for your adapter.
