USB WiFi Installation

I have installed and un-installed to try and get a Linksys WUSB54G to work
on Windows 2000 Professional. The driver will not install.
Linksys has confirmed drivers etc are correct and as thousands must have
used the install CD then drivers must work.
The USB device works fine on another (Win XP) computer so suspect hidden
install files or similar on Win2K.
Error Message:-
An error occured during the installation of the device.
The INF or the device information set or element does not match the
specified install class
Any ideas?

However it does not seem to cure the problem - so am back to square one
