Win XP will not load up

At first XP loaded and then I got a message saying that
windows will shut down in 60 secs. After it shut down I
restarted & pressed F8. I chose WIN XP and then the
screen went blank. I rebooted and did the same and it
went blank again I repeatedly did this until I got real
bored. Help please!
