win xp Services question...?

Hi everyone,

I need to know about the windows services, how do they work, especially how
to recover system if necessary services are disabled and windows does not
function right? Windows help does not provide any more than help than basics
but how to recover from windows xp failing because of me disabling a
service..it is just that recently I unknowingly after reading the names and
descriptions of system services disabled some necessary service wat i got
was my windows booted properly but it was not good 4 anything, I could not
even copy and paste anything cuz those functions were disabled becuz of
service was disabled and I could not enable those services. I even tried
Safe mode and debugging mode and started windows xp in command prompt mode
but it didnt work and all I had to do was just restore my whole c drive from
my image made with Powerquest Image pro.
Any help will be highly helpful in understanding the way how to enable
services thru command prompt in safe mode or any other way?
