Win XP Restore!

I had a virus installed in my computer which led to delete my files and
folders which were on my desktop. Then I used the WIN XP restore utility, and
it did successfully restore my previous settings. The problem is that, the
folders which were on the desktop were empty. Is there anyway I can find at
least the names of the files which were on the desktop?? As I had around
thousands of files and I need to know the names of those files only. Thanks!

Is there anyway; like using command Prompt to list the files in history or
the files in specific day???

Hi,

System Restore, as you now know, does not retrieve deleted files. To try and
retrieve your deleted files, you would want to use an undelete utility.
These are commonly available for free, and work on the premise that the
space the file formerly occupied has not been overwritten with new data yet.
Once that has occured, recovery requires more extensive (and expensive) work
with dedicated forensic tools by someone who knows what they are doing.

This one here works quite well for basic file recovery:
