win xp pro network problems

Hi,
I have 3 computers running win xp pro. All 3 computers connect to
a linksys BEFSR41 ver 3 router. The router is connected to a cable
modem provided by my cable company.
All 3 computers connect to the internet, have shared folders that
all 3 boxes can access, can remote desktop into 2 boxes and have a
network pritner that all 3 computers can print from. When working,
all connections seem fine.
The problem is when i start/restart a computer( this happens with
all 3 computers) I have no internet connection. I can connect to any
of the other computers, see files, print, remote desktop, etc but
no internet connection.

when i run ipconfig, i see that The DNS server is set to my ip
address given by the router, a 192.x.x.x address. I then
release and renew the connection like 20 times before i get
a DNS address from the cable company, internet connection.
So times i will release and renew the connection like 50 times
and still nothing. I then run the network setup wizard and it usually
connects after a few more release/renews.
When i run the network setup wizard, which is the same on all 3 boxes,
I choose "this computer connects to the internet through another computer
on my network or through a residential gateway."

can anyone give me any advise on how to correct this problem?

Thanks,
Chuck

Go into the Local Area Connection properties for all the
computers, bind only TCP/IP, Microsoft Client and File
Sharing. (uninstall all other protocals except QoS) Go into
the TCP/IP properties and set everything to automatic.
Go into your router's console and turn on DHCP. Reboot the
router then renew all your IPs and everything should work.
