Win XP Pro disk read error

Tom

I have a computer running Windows XP Professional. It
started making some clicking sounds at which point I
tried restarting the computer. Now, everytime I try to
restart it gives me the message "disk read error, press
Crtl + Alt + Delete to restart." I do this but the disk
read error just pops up again. Any help? Thanks.

Sounds like your HDD took a dump. Replace it and reinstall XP and your backups. You do have backups, don't you?
