Win XP Pro Backup Problem

I am having an interesting time trying to do a backup of my Windows XP
Pro system lately. I have successfully run backup jobs previously.

I have a Win XP Pro PC with SP2.
I am trying to backup using a scheduled job.
I am "running as" a username created just for this purpose.
The user has a password set.
I am backing up to a large hard drive on a Win2k PC.
I created the same username on that PC, and made the PW the same.
I can manually run backup with no problem.
I gave this ID permission to the jobs.
The ID is a member of the built in "backup group"

When the time comes for the job to run, the status changes to
"running".

It appears nothing after that happens. A file name never appears in the
folder where the backup is directed.

There are no error messages.
The status remains "running" until I manually stop it. (I tested with
a single small file and allowed several hours for the job to complete,
and left other jobs over-night)
There are no messages indicating any kind of problem.
There are no messages in the event log.

The XP box is using the Windows firewall.
The Win2K box is running ZoneAlarm security suite, and both are
up-to-date.
There are no firewall log messages showing any type of activity stopped
or allowed between the PCs.

Anyone see something I have missed? I have successfully run the same
type of jobs between the same to boxes previously.

I missed one othree thing ... when I end the task, I DO get an error -
ntbackup.exe application error: Memory Could Not Be Read.
