Win XP memory limitations

What is the maximum RAM limit for XP installs WITHOUT any
service packs? Thanks!

With or without service packs, the answer is the same--4GB. Most
motherboards won't hold that much, though.

4gb is the limit.

However there are some issues that can arise with more than 3 gb of
RAM and Windows XP so unless you really have a demonstrated need for
going beyond 3 gb of RAM then I suggest you limit your self to that
amount, at least until more practical experience has been gained with
systems that have 4 gb of RAM installed.
