New PC O/S Win XP Home. Dual core Intel 1.gGhz.
1024 RAM. 320Gb Seagate SATA HDD.
The machine hangs on shutdown...not all the time only after I have been
browsing on two or three different web addresses. Eventually shuts down but
only after about 20 minutes.
Any ideas?
TIA

Thank you Ken. This article has given me many ways of attempting to cure
the problem. If I may and if I get a result I will post again.

Seems as though the problem is sorted. Services.msc and then disabled
nvidia helper.
Thanks again Ken.
