Win XP does not start

Hi,
When I shut down or restart my computer(Windows XP Professional, and added
SP2 after), I get black screen with a error message. The gist of error
message is to try to start normally, last configuration that was working and
alternatives. when I press enter with all of the possibilities, nothing
happens. And again the cycle repeats continuously. I tried with 6 Win XP boot
disks, nothing seems to work at all. Kindly suggest a remedy. Thanks.
 
A resolution may be that you could bring up the system in safe mode.

If this works, then shut down and attempt a restart into XP.

If restarting doesn't work, then think as to what NEW hardware was added and
shut down the PC and remove it.
