win xp can't connet to win 98 on network

My win xp and win 98 can both get on the internet with not
problems.. but when i go to connet on win xp on the
network i can't get in to win98. but if i go downstairs i
can get in to win xp from my win98 computer. if u can help
it would be nice.. thanks

can you ping win98 from xp? also make sure not firewall running on the lan
connection
