Lately, I've been receiving an error from Task Manager
regarding a WIN MIN process trying to end when the PC is
restart or shut down. Please advice. Thank you in
advance for your assistance.

Your computer is infested with spyware. Remove spyware with Spybot
Search & Destroy from www.security.kolla.de and Ad-aware from
www.lavasoftusa.com. Be sure to update these programs before running
them. It is best to run antivirus and spyware removal tools in Safe
Mode. Also, be sure to have a current antivirus program installed and
running.

Cheers,

Malke

Dear Malke,

Thank you very much for the helpfull info. I was able to
successcully run the programs you suggested. However,
now I'm getting a runtime error when my pc starts up.
The error reads: "Runtime error 5 at 0000464B". Please
advice if you can. Thanks again, Janeth

Did you update the spyware removal tools before you ran them? I did a
Google on your error and it would indicate that you still have the evil
homepage hijacker on board. Here's a cut-and-paste from one of the
links as to how someone successfully got rid of the hijacker and error:

From
http://www.computing.net/windows2000/wwwboard/forum/54191.html
"Here is what I have done.
1. delete all unwanted links from the favorites of the browser
2. change the home page destination to what i want in the internet
options.
3. shut the internet connection
4. run Spybot
5. run CWShredder
6. run Ad-Aware 6.0
I tried three vaccines consecutively. And it worked.

By the way, I still see the name of that annoying website
(find4u.net) that was being set as home page at hosts file under
C:\WINNT\system32\drivers\etc
Does this file harm? What does this do anyway??"

So, follow what this guy suggests. You can get the CWShredder
(CoolWebSearch) here: http://merijn.org/ and just to add to what that
poster said, I'd do the scans in Safe Mode and definitely delete the
reference to find4u.net from the hosts file.

If you need more help, post back.

Cheers,

Malke

Dear Malke,

I want to thank you very much for the great help. My PC
is now free of "bugs".
