Win DVD problems

I cant play any DVDs on my computer. I have Win DVD version 4.0 which came installed. If i play a DVD it plays for about 2-3 min then I get this error message
file:nv4_dis
device driver stuck in an infinite loo
I've tried reinstalling with no luck, any help would be great, thanks.
