Win 2k Server and OS/X

We are having problems with a MAC running OS/X (10.2.6) seeing all of the files on a Win 2k server shared folder. The MAC is connecting to the shared folder using smb. There are 30 files in the shared folder, but the MAC is only seeing 28 of them. We haven't been able to figure out why the user can't see a couple of files which they created. Any ideas?

Are the two missing files of a particular type (i.e. Are they both Word or
Excel or Photoshop)?

If a Mac is creating these files and then not able to see them, do they
disappear immediately or later that day or possibly the next day?
