I cannot uninstall a version of Norton as I get an error saying i do not have
the correct Win installer. I have downloaded the new win installer from the
MS download site, but then get the following error when I try to install the
installer: "Error creating process <C:\Documents and Settings ........
\msiinst.exe /i instmsi.msi MSIEXECREG=1 /m /qb+!>. Reason:
INNT\system32\advpack.dll"

Anyone any ideas ? I've tried updating Windows too, but get no response
from the update site.

If you go to www.symantec.com and type in "Manually uninstall Norton" and the
version of Norton. You'll get a detailed description on how to uninstall it.
As for why it happens in the first place, I am not sure but I think it's a
Noton problem not a Windows problem. Good luck!

If you haven't been able to uninstall norton yet, First have you tried
microsoft uninstall utility, you can download it from micrsoft, if you have
and you still can, then,; post me a message and I may be able to help you. I
have a complete norton removal tool.
