Win 2003 Std Server back to Win 2000 ?

I have just purchased a new DELL server with Windows 2003 Std Server.

My applications requires/runs better with Win 2000 Server - can I get
downgrade for free to Win 2000 Server - I do not need 2003..

If you have a license for 2003 you can install the media for 2000. Your
2003 CAL's are good if you move to 2000.
 
How do I install it ? does the media I have for Win 2003 also have Win 2000
?

Or do I need to get in touch with MS to get a new OS CD & key ?

No the 2003 CD does not have 2000 on it. If you don't have a 2000 CD, you can
try contacting MS, but I think they are going to tell you that you will have
to buy a copy of 2000. The 2003 OS and CAL licenses will cover you for 2000,
but if you don't own the media to do the install, you are going to have to
get it.
