Win 2000 upgrade from XP Home

Has anyone upgraded to Win 2000 from XP Home? Will it
keep all of the XP settings and programs?
 
This is not an "upgrade" Win 2k came out before Win XP. You need to format
and reinstall.

That is what I figured but had to get it confirmed before
I bought 2000. I will try to talk them into XP Pro but
some people can be hard headed.
