Win 2000 Professional

Hello,
I currently have Win 2000 running on a Compaq
Presario. When starting up, 2000 will not launch properly
and hangs at the "Compaq" logo. Only after repeated
shutdowns will the system start! Any suggestions?? Would
appreciate any help!!

Jim -

- check that BIOS still sees the drive W2k is on.
- download that drive manufacturer's diagnostic. If it's
not on their website, call their tech support.

If it hangs at that point its a hardware problem.
Go into your bios and try clearing the nvram, should be an option in your
bios. Then double check the bios setting to make sure its ok.
If that doesnt work, check to see if there are any updates to your bios.
