Win 2000 Pro-IE 6.0 default email program issue

Bill

When I click on an email link on a website I get an email
shortcut problem message. It says cannot send email
because no mail program is set to send emails using
internet short cut. I opened IE, went to
tools>options>programs; The default email program block
was empty and OE was not an option in the drop down menu.
Can someone help? Thanks

Open Internet Explorer and go to Tools | Internet Options | Programs and
make sure the correct Mail program is specified.

Daniel,

If the program you want to use doesn't show in the dropdown box, how do you
get it there? I'd love to be able to change my default HTML editor....

TIA

Daniel,
As indicated in my original post I tried that. There is
nothing in the default mail box and nothing in the drop
down menu to select. My basic problem seems to be I can't
set a default mail program for IE.
Any other suggenstions would be appreciated.
Thanks
