Win 2000 and wireless WPA security?

I have an old Thinkpad which had an illegal version of XP
thanks to ebay. I no longer use the machine because I'm
unable to update Win XP.

I'm thinking of restoring it to its original setup which was
Win 2000.

But - will Win 2000 work with a wireless router using WPA
security? I can't use the older WEP security because none
of the other computers in the house use it and I want to use
WPA.

All suggestions appreciated.

I dont believe its anything to do with win2k, but rather the wireless
card/dongle you are using on the Thinkpad
Assuming the Thinkpad has built in wireless, even if WPA is not avilable in
that you could add a complient wireless dongle & disable the onboard.

I still run win2k and can easily setup WPA by using the software that came
with my wireless card

There is or used to be a free program called WSC Guard 4.0 (I think
McAfee took them over and now only offers the enterprise-level one
that you have to pay a monthly fee to use) that allowed you to utilize
WPA-PSK with Windows 2000. I don't know if you can still find a copy
of it around somewhere. I know I used it in Win2K when my software for
my wireless PCI card would only give me WEP capability.

I have a wireless router which connects my pc (win2000sp4) with a laptop
(Vista). No problem making secure connection wpa without special utilities.
