Will Windows Live work with XP?

My in-laws just bought a Microsoft Webcam that will only work with
Windows Live, not Skype, which we in the family all have. The family
tried to get them to buy a Dynex, but PRICE is their bottom line.
They now expect everyone to use Windows Live. Does this work on XP,
which my wife and step-son has?

If price is their bottom line wouldn't a Best Buy Dynex webcam be cheaper
than a Microsoft?

The Microsoft Webcam does work with Skype as well as all other video
chat programs. It is just that the button on the cam is only
programmed for Windows Live Call. You need to configure the cam
manually.
