will not wake up from stand by mode

Hey Guys!,

My friend has an Dell Inspiron 6000 and I've been trying to figure out why
his computer no longer recovers from stand by. He was able to use it before
but a few weeks ago he tried going to standby but could no longer recover
from it. I've checked for BIOS and video driver updates and checked power
management settings but still nothing works.
could it be some special configuration from windows?

I'd really appreciate the help,
