Will I have to re-install all my programs if I upgrade from XP to 64 bit?
 
No, an upgrade leaves all data and settings intact.

BUT, you should always have back-ups of important data, just in case.
 
Don't forget to run Compatibility Wizard or Upgrade Advisor before
installation. It will give you a complete detail on all hardware / softwares
you are currently running in Windows XP 32 bit edition.

You canl find this utility with your Windows XP 64 bit CD.
