will a .mov file play in the presentation

Why can I include a .mov file in a slide and it not play during the
presentation? It will play if I go through the slides as in edit mode and
click open the .mov file of the individual slide. The .mov file was taken
with a Kodak digital camera.

try renaming the .mov file to a .mpg

always use (in powerpoint)
- insert menu
- movies
- from file

if that does not do the trick see
