Why will my .mov file not play in PowerPoint presentation?

I inserted the .mov file, but it will not play. I have read up on help and
found the file type IS supported, so what's the deal? How can I get that
small .mov file to play? I have to present this TOMORROW! Any help would be
appreciated!

Are you running on a Mac or a PC? PowerPoint on PC's can play .mov files that
are encoded with Quick Time version 1 or 2, but higher than that and it's a no

..mov files don't work well with PowerPoint on the PC. Only some early
version of .mov files is fully supported. You probably have three
options:

(1) Instead of "inserting" the video, link to the video file (be sure
that QuickTime is installed on the machine on which this will play). To
do this, create a button, right click on it and set its action settings
to hyperlink to a file.

(2) Convert the .mov file to another format (such as .avi) that will
play.

(3) I don't know if PFCMedia will work with .mov files, but if it does,
it might be your best solution. You can even get a free trial at:

Suggest you try converting to AVI using

Its worth pointing out that when you do the conversion you need to pick a
video codec that will exist on any machine the .avi is likely to be played
on.
