NO - Wild Tangent won't be an option on an official SP2 CD.

I get an error message each time I boot up that "Wild Tangent" did not load
propoerly. My instinct is simply to uninstall Wild Tangent. Is there any
reason not to? Is "wild tangent" necessary for anything other than these
games?

Wild Tangent is only for gaming. It is the price you pay to get the "free?"
games. You see, they are not so free after all.

Be interesting to see what MS Spyware will classify it as if that's the
case, they made some hot media player visualisations though.

Posted: Wed Jul 07, 2004 8:12 pm Post subject: WildTangent

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hello, I'm WildTangent's CEO Alex St. John. We're an online game
publishing company in Redmond Washington. You are correct that Microsoft as
well as all of our other partners would have nothing to do with us if we
were actually a spyware company or even an adware company. We make online
published games.

The reason we get tagged as spyware is because we use a common game
engine called the WildTangent Web Driver for all of the content we publish.
It checks automatically for new software patches or udpates when it's
running so that online users who click a game won't have to wait for the Web
Driver to upgrade itself before they can play.

The spyware removal guys have a lot on their hands these days and
generally don't take a very close look at a product before they decide to
remove it. We just released a new Web Driver on our site
(www.wildtangent.com) that makes it easy for users to disable its self
patching feature. Installing it will also clean up any old Web Driver
versions a user may have. Uninstalling it using add/remove programs will
cause it to clean all WildTangent bits off the users systems with the
exception of the games themselves and our GameChannel product. (GameChannel
is a download manager for our games. It's designed to make online delivery
more reliable for modem users)

Hope that helps
-Alex ;)

I can't access

How did your posting here help the poster Hattie with their problem:
Wild Tangent did not load properly?

So you've cleaned up your act and WildTangent is no longer
installed without a users consent or knowledge while another program is
being installed on the computer?
