Thanks for the info; so where in the hell does HP get off installing
spyware? It is bad enough that they dont send recovery cd's, not to mention
their advertising is false because the recovery partition takes up 4+ gigs
space.

Yea? Though I have gripes about Gateways, Dells, etc., these computers
sell at the same price and they are shipped with recovery cds.... but then
HP 'is' at the bottom of my list, for many reasons other than just the
recovery partition.
