Wierd Network Printing Problem

I am running a home network with 3 PC's & 3 network HP printers.

2 of the PC's have started to experience problems printing in that documents
sent do not print, they just sit in the print window (figuratively speaking).

There seems to be nothing wrong with the network as after documents are sent
to print, I can ping the printers & also log onto their admin page via a
browser using their IP address.

The print spooler is running, but if I re-start it, the documents print.

This is driving me nuts. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

It sounds like the printer drivers have become corrupted.... which is the
usual cause of the spooler failing (even as in you case, just a bit!).

Of course the real issue for you will be to work out which drivers on which
PCs... but that's something I'm sure you'll work out, even if you have to
unintall all 3 printers on all 3 PCs.

Hi, thanks for your reply.

I have re-installed the drivers numerous times - make no difference.

What my original post doesn't make clear is that this only occurs after the
PC has been on for a few hours. When I first boot up or restart the PC,
anything which hasn't printed on previous attempts comes out of the printer.

I have just added the HP Universal network driver (in addition to the
original one) for the 1200N so I'll see if that makes any difference. Oddly,
the HP Network Printer Install utility couldn't find the printer on the
network (I had to enter the IP address).

Neil.
