Hello. I have a HP ze5300 with 768 RAM and 60GB running on WinXP Home
SP2. The laptop runs fine but... it won't recognize usb speaker when I
plug them in. I've tried 2 different type of speakers (logitechs V20
and Creative TravelSound Notebook 500) and neither worked.
Speciifically, I would get a small yellow popup window saying the usb
device is not recognized , click for help. Then a usb root propoerties
window would come up listing device status : reconnet the device. i
would do that, and the same process would occur. I unisntalled all usb
devices in device manager, rebooted, and still got the same result. My
mouse and printer work fine via usb.

I have a flash memory card that doesn't work via usb too, but the
speakers are more important to me. ;^)

Thanks for your help. Is there any way out of this? I mean I would
really like to stick to usb speakers since I travel often with the
laptop.

What sound card does the HP laptop use and have you gotten
any updates on the sound card drivers?
