Wierd Colour change....help!

M

matt

I am running my display properities in "XP Style" from
the appearance tab in Display Properties.... That's
fine. However, the color scheme keeps changing to Olive
Green, seemingly at Random.

Everytime I change it, the next time I log on, whithin a
few minutes of logging in, everything that is affected by
the color scheme flashes black and then changes to the
Olive green them.

I've noticed that even when I leave it Olive, I still get
the "Black flash" as if the color is changing, exept that
it is going from green to green...

This is the XP Home edition running SP1.

Anybody seen this before!?

Thanks! I'll give that a shot... its definitly not my
monitor or vid card as per Nictu, its the xp settings
that are changing.

Appreciate the help.

Hi Matt,

Run the edit on line 157
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm

If that doesn't help and it should, run this one:

Save Settings on Exit (Line 54)
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm

To use the Regedit: Save the REG File to your hard disk. Double click it
and answer yes to the import prompt. REG files can be viewed in Notepad by
right clicking on the file and selecting Edit.

Hi Kelly,

I ran the edits you suggested but they didn't work...

Here is a little more info...

Aside from my master account there is another account
with administrative rights set up on this machine... I
does not have this problem of the colour scheme changing
to XP Style, Olive Green.

I have even changed my colour scheme to Windows Classic
Style, and it is still reseting to Olive Green, XP Style.

When it switches, sometimes I get a beep front the system
speaker...

Its a Dell Computer running on a Pentium III. It
originally came installed with Windows ME. I am currently
running the Home XP edition which was installed as an
upgrade fairly succesfully.

Do you have any other Ideas?
