Widowed group header

How to I prevent a group header from being left at the bottom of a page
with its contents starting on the next page. I'm looking for something
akin to Word's "Keep with next" paragraph formatting.

are you talking about a Header section in an Access report?
if so, take a look at the section's KeepTogether property in the Properties
box in design view. also open the Sorting And Grouping box in design view,
select the appropriate "row", and look at the KeepTogether property at the
bottom of the dialog box. you can read up on these properties by clicking on
them and pressing F1 to open Access Help to the appropriate topic.
