widescreen viewing

ok so i finally got a 27" flatscreen lcd-tft tv which i am currently using as a monitor as well, what i would like to know is how can i view my pc in widescreen without stretching the image. the standard 4/3 format is very big n pleasing but i have a widescreen and i want to use all of i

i am currently using a geforce 4 mx 440 and the tv is a thomson 27lcdb03b, any nd all help would be appreciated, thanx!

16:9 is to widescreen as 16:12 (4:3) is to your computer screen. If you
want the wide screen you lose 33% of the vertical computer display if
you fill the width because you only have 9 vertical and need 12.. The
only way to preserve the view without distortion is to reduce the 16:12
to 16x9/12:12x9/12 or 12x9 which leaves the black bands on either side
because the horizontal is 16.

In other words, it cannot be done.
