Stretching problem in widescreen monitor :

I am running windows xp sp2 pro on my pc. I have an LCD widescreen
monitor.
The most frustruating stuff I find is that my screen stretches as if
it were trying to maintain the aspect ratio of 3:4 monitors .
I have tried re-configuring the resolution but none prevents the
stretching .Actually it must be like 1920 x 1080, or a 16:9 ratio .
How can I get this resolution . Hardware requirements are okay
coz the screen was fine before I formatted and reinstalled xp. I
have AMD nvidia nforce mainboard and AMD triple core processor.

Go out to your laptop manufacturer's website and get the video drivers. That
should fix your problem.
