WIA problem

Howdy
My system has been unstable of late and incredibly slow at start up. I did a selective startup and found the Windows Image Aquisition (WIA) service to be the culprit. Just browsing the newsgroup, it seems to have been a common problem for a number of people. I've just turned the thing off and the computer seems to be runing a lot better. Is this going to cause any issues in terms of system stability. What does this program actually do? Is there a fix for this problem?

Hi Craig

The Windows Image Acquisition service is used by some imaging devices camera's and scanner's. You are correct in the steps you have done however, but rather than WIA being the problem you may have incorrect drivers for a scanner or camera on your system. You can find more information here:
