XP slow loading personal settings

After getting rid of spyware, I had I.Explorer problems. I ran WINSOCKFIX and
I.E. worked well however startup now takes 4-5 minutes. My son's section of
the computer stars up fairly quickly. If it means anything, EVENT VIEWER
shows "Windows Image Aquisition (WIA) service hung on start". Once everything
loads,USUALLY all programs function well. Any tricks to cut down on the
starup time. Thanks, Ray
