I think there might be a terminology problem here.

I'm *guessing* that what you mean is 'When I open a new email, there is
already something in the email.'

Sounds like you have a signature set up. Go to Tools - Options - Mail Format
and set the Signature for new messages and Signature for replies and
forwards to <None>.

Now, if that *isn't* what you mean, please reply back and explain a bit more
exactly what you are seeing, what you are doing to 'clear it' and what
version of Outlook you are running.

sorry about the confusion. when i open a new mail message (that i want to

Ok. Would you be able to email me a screenshot of what you're seeing?
Just start a new message, hit the Print Screen button on your keyboard,
start a message and paste it to me in email?

Ok, thanks for the screenshot.

So, the right click menu, is that *in* the email?

I mean, I guess I'm just confused. If you just compose a new message and
send it, is whatever was in your clipboard sent to the recipient?

Well, first, lets clarify what the clipboard is. The clipboard is a
systemwide storage spot that stores something when you select an item and do
Edit - Copy (or Edit - Cut) and will then put that stored item in when you
do a Edit - Paste.

Is the problem just that you are able to paste something into a new message,
despite not thinking there was anything pasteable in your clipboard?
