Why won't images appear???

Hi, I don't understand why in some cases ( in some emails and in XP help center) all I get is a blank box with a smaller box with red "X" in it where the image should be.....any help would be appreciated.....Thanks
 
I think you need to look in the tools/advanced options in
internet explorer and look at the settings for multimedia.
Make sure you have selected the showing (downloading of
images etc),you can play with these settings to see if it
solves your problem without doing any harm
