Why "Windows is shutting down" takes too long

My Dell computer(P4 2.8GHz, 512MB DDR400 RAM, 80GB hard disk) has Windows
XP SP1 preinstalled at the begining. I upgraded it to SP2 by ordering a CD
this October. The Windows Firewall is enabled by default. After installing
the SP2, There isn't any problem except shutting down Windows. When the
screen displays the exact word "Windows is shutting down", I have to wait it
for about 15 seconds. During this time, no sound comes out of the hard disk.
After 15 seconds, the computer can be shut down automatically.

This problem doesn't exist prior to SP2. Who can work out it?
