Why will games not work?

I look after several computers with Xp Pro on them. Some of the users
have asked that I install games on them. I have put a variety of games
from Max Payne through Harry Potter to Age of Empires. All of them
work fine with the administrator account but not with any user
account. Why is this?
I have installed other progs & all work fine with any account. None of
the games will work in anything other than the administrator account.

Because the games are badly written. You may need to use run as or something
to run the program with different credentials; also check with the games mfr
to see what the user needs rights to in order to run the game.

Personally, I don't allow users to have local admin rights, period, and
games are not exactly mission critical applications, so I wouldn't bother
with this at all - your mileage may vary.

I agree Lanwench. However, I do not set policy for these computers (they are
mainly home based) & if they pay me for doing it, who am I to argue?
Will try the run as on my test pc later.
