How is one going to choose which version they need most people can't decide
what to eat for dinner, let alone trying to decide which of the 5 flavors of
Vista will satisfy your needs, come on Microsoft 2 flavors is all you need
and all the plubic needs.

I don't agree, there aren't only 2 "flavors" of XP. Some people need more
than others, since when is choice a bad thing?

There are more than two flavors of XP: Home, Pro, Media Center, Pro x64,
Tablet. (Not to mention Starter and N).

Vista Home = XP Home
Vista Home Premium = XP Media Center Edition
Vista Business = XP Pro

Vista Enterprise is a version of Business available to Software Assurance
customers only (with appropriate free software perks)

Vista Ultimate is new and is the result of the way the Windows WIM file
works.

Tablet features are now incorporated in the various Vista sku's.

How many flavors (zillion) of Linux is there ? And it has less than 1% of
the desktop market.

Sample - there have been numerous "Flavors" starting with Win 95 (Four
versions). Vista Enterprise will only be available to business volume
licensees. Home Basic and Premium will replace Windows Media Center and will
be "entertainment" oriented".
