I only have one hard drive on my laptop, and there is only one partition on
it. This is the stock OEM arrangement.

I'm bewildered as to why the following directories listed in Windows
Explorer are *not* under C:

Owner's Documents
Shared Documents

If they're not in the C partition, then what partition are they in?

They're in C:\Documents and Settings. If you're using NTFS as your file
system, and you are not logged on to the Owner account, you may not be able
to see them, they will be hidden.

But they are, look under C: in Documents and Settings\All Users and you will
find the Shared Documents folder. Same holds true for the owner's
documents, they will be in Documents and Settings\owner's name\My Documents.
