Why is my Outlook 2007 not showing some received emails?

Some of my received emails do not show up in my Inbox. I know I received them
because they are listed in th Unread Messages folder. When I try to drag them
from Unread Messages to the Inbox, nothing happens. This suggests that they
are actually in the Inbox but not visible. I can drag these emails from the
Unread Messages folder to any folder except the Inbox.
How can I fix this?

The Unread Messages folder should show what folder the item actually exists
in...

From the Unread Messages folder, the "invisible" emails appear to be in the
Inbox. But ... when I look in the Inbox folder, they do not appear.

Ive seen the same problem with some of our users. They complain that incoming
of send mail are not visible in the mailbox under several folders.

An other forum said that they are marked as private items but that aint the
problem here. We also use office 2007 but find the same problem in office 2003

Hope anyone has an explantion.
