Why is mail going to Unread Mail instead of Inbox?

My received mail is going into the Unread Mail folder but is only visible in
the Inbox after I open the Unread Mail folder. Why? What do I need to do to
get it to show in my Inbox?

The Unread Mail folder isn't a real folder. It's a search context. If it
shows that the messages are in the INbox, then that's where they are and you
have some misadjustment in the view you're using on the INbox that is hiding
the messages. Try resetting the view to its default.

I found the problem. I had installed Google Desktop and that was apparently
interfering. When I uninstalled it, my mail went right to the Inbox.

All my yahoo email is going to my unread rather than my inbox. I've looked at settings and nothing looks out of the ordinary. Please help. I just checked my filters and I don't have any stating to send it to unread.

did you find a solution to this problem? this is what is happpening to me and i have spent 3 hours trying to fix it!
