Why is Dial-up connection ghosted

Hi,

Recently, I just upgraded ny PC from Win 2000 to Win XP, but as I began
to set my dial-up internet connection setting, Win XP had the radio button
for extablishing dial-up connection ghosted, I can't establish my dial-up
internet. I went back to Win XP and installed some addional "add-ons"
thinking this might do the work but to no success--please help.

Any input in much appreciated.

Is the modem working? Check Device Manager, Modem. It might need a
driver.
