Why is Bluetooth so complicated?

Now I have a bluetooth equipped Notebook, main computer, and blackberry ,
I've tried over and over to get to grips with Bluetooth.
Why is it all so complicated to even get them to talk to one another. Then I
turn them off overnight and none of the connections that partly worked, do
anything the next day. Transferring an image from the cameraphone on the
blackberry , and I was persistent took me 5 hours , and I finally did it
using a USB lead... Why oh why is it so so complicated.
Can anyone direct me to a decent , easy to follow, web site giving
instructions that doesn't expect me to have a computing degree...

Ta in advance..

Microsoft seems to not have made any WHQL certifications for the
Bluetooth protocol / dongle (yet??) and there are various different
protocol stacks currently available. Not every version will work with
every dongle. Some work better than others and some are more limited
that a different one.

The Bluetooth protocol stacks that I know off:

Widcom/Broadcom -- Bluetooth dongle must be compatible
Bluesoleil -- Bluetooth dongle requires certificate
(??)
license. Not every dongle has
this
Toshiba -- Details unknown -- Usually on Toshiba
Bluetooth enabled laptops
Microsoft XP SP2 -- Delivered with Service Pack 2. Only can
be used for Bluetooth serial
port and
PAN (Personal Access Network???)
--- Works with most Bluetooth
dongles

Also, you must know that several cell phone carriers purposely turn
off most Bluetooth services on the "subsidized" (aka low cost or
"free") cellphones. This is to force "us" to use the more expensive
cell access time.
