Why i cant open my 10 years old hotmail account?

I need help with trying to get Hotmail to windows mail. It tells me i need
to upgrade to Windows Live mail, but i already did . Can anyone please help
on how to do this.

Hotmail usage via Windows Live Mail is accomplished via the web interface(hotmail.com). Windows Mail does not support a hotmail http account. Windows Live Mail Desktop Beta does.
