Why has xp stopped recognising my camera when i attach it to a usb

Hi for monyjs I have been happily uploading photograps using a usb lead from
my camera. Aboput a month it go it stopped workink. Initially I thought it
might be my camera but it works on other PC's. I have also purchased a card
reader but whist it lights up no recondition happens and no transfers take
place.

Help please?

Make a restore point, and try this.

Go to Start/Run, and type DEVMGMT.MSC , highlight the USB Hub device(s),
Action menu, "Uninstall", then restart Windows, to find the device drivers
again automatically.

Mark Thank you for your advice which i tried but it has not cured ny problem.
I have just realised that the USB ports must be working as the broadband
wireless adapter work through t one of the USB ports a does my wireless
keyboard and mouse so I have prober;ly misled you. I just dont know how to
phrase thge problem any other way.
